Ultimate Shred Licks - Lick #1 - E Lydian Shred Lick
Hey folks! Today we have a very cool lick in E Lydian using a bit of hybrid picking and some tapping. This is a lick you may hear guys like Per Nilsson, Paul Wardingham and even Vai throw into their solo's. So since we are working in E Lydian, you can think of it as B Major if that makes it any easier to understand what key we are in for those who don't know too much modal theory.
The lick is open to interpretation but here is the way I play it: The first note is a hybrid pick and then we get into some hammer on's up to the G string and then another hybrid pick on the B string on the D# note 16th fret and then we go down, into some tapping, move into a cool tapping shape and then we finish it off with a Vai esque line.
