Steve Vai Style Slide Sweep Into Legato Lick
Here is a very signature Vai lick, if you are a fanatic(like me)you have definitely heard this lick throughout Vai's long career and many records.
He uses a cool concept to lead up to the rather generic E Minor legato lick. That concept is a 3 string slide sweep.
The trick here is to get your right and left hand in sync for the sweeps, it isn't that difficult but when you play it sloppy or un-clean, it doesn't give you the same effect. So just practice those slide sweeps slowly and then everything should fall into place. The legato lick is rather simple.
